With déjà vu, déjà visité, I intend to unravel, from an autobiographical perspective, that so-called brain failure that overlaps the new with the already-lived, and that continues to be a mystery for science, through a medium so linked to memory and time-space relationships as photography. The project starts from the place I experienced my first déjà vu, and it’s currently a work in progress.

September 1993 / January 2019
My memories from a longed-for trip to Lanzarote in September 1993 were marked for life by an uncommon passage: experimenting the first and most intense déjà vu of my whole life, and being able to recall it with an unusual clarity. 25 years later, I reunited with the few pictures my father had taken in that trip, and I decided that it was time for me to go back to the island to reconstruct the memories by photographically extending that album, starting with the search of the place of the déjà vu, guiding myself with the exact postcard I had impressed in my mind.
